Ranked by the Americans as one of the world’s top 10, the Médoc marathon is surely number one in terms of conviviality and festivity.
The passages through villages and past châteaux are accompanied by a noisy audience, at least half the competitors are in fancy dress, wine is high up on the agenda, and the ensuing evening is a big party.
Just enrol at the beginning of the year. Only 7,000 participants are drawn at random, because numbers are limited.
