Location

This wine area has been an AOC (appellation d’origine contrôlée) since 1948. It straddles 3 administrative departments, the Gers, Pyrénées-Atlantiques and Hautes-Pyrénées, but most of the towns are in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, in Aquitaine.
Madiran is a red wine that goes very well with all sorts of dishes, particularly spicy, while Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh is a white, either dry or sweet, made with ancestral grape varieties.

Atmosphere

Over the 14 july, the independent winegrowers of Madiran and Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh invite you to discover and taste their wines in the Parc du Prieuré in Madiran: crafts and regional produce market in the village bathed in a musical, festive atmosphere. Firework display, concerts, a winegrowers Mass and free events for kids, tastings and convivial meals all day long.
