It was during the Roman era that the first vines of Luchey-Halde were planted. Over the centuries, the quality of the terroir as well as the reputation of the excellence of the wines of Graves have enabled the land at Luchey to be strongly protected from the growth of private housing estates.
In 1999, the current owner, the École Nationale d’Ingénieurs des Travaux Agricoles de Bordeaux repurchased the land and replanted the vines which had been uprooted by the army in 1919.
