In its fully refurbished reception area, the Cave des coteaux du Mézinais offers tasting sessions and sells a huge choice of dry and sweet whites, reds and rosés, armagnac and floc. Give in to the temptation of its selection of dried fruits, cakes and sweets made with honey, or its fattened ducks.

Bergerac Purple Perigord

In the heart of old Bergerac, the Maison des Vins de Bergerac is the headquarters of the Inter-profession Wine Council of Bergerac, and home to the famous Cloître des Recollets. A visit of the place gives you a view over the River Dordogne. A permanent exhibition called “Le Vin est Voyage” retraces the history of the wine region by means of a mural in the Cloître des Récollets. Next, an animated film screened in the cellar of the Confrérie de la Vinée tells the story of how wine is made over the seasons. Last, a sensory room awakens your senses in order to prepare you for a tasting of Bergerac wines.

Visiting the Basque Country? Take a detour to the Cave d’Irouléguy, founded in 1952 and located in Saint-Etienne-de-Baïgorry, Route de Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port. This cooperative winery vinifies and sells the production of 140 member growers covering 150 hectares of vines, including 130 in the Irouléguy AOC.
Visits
The Cave d’Irouléguy proposes visits to its facilities all year round: the recent winery equipped with two pneumatic presses, the maturing cellar with around 300 barrels, and the bottling line, refurbished in 2005. And if you want to bring something back with you, go to the shops belonging to the winery in Saint-Etienne-de-Baïgorry and Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port.

Cave du Marmandais: Beaupuy and Cocumont
Location
To get to know the côtes-du-marmandais wine better, why not make the trip to the winery of the same name? You have the choice between the one in Beaupuy on the right bank of the Garonne, 5 km from Marmande, and the one in Cocumont, on the left bank of the same river – the river that forms the spine of the côtes-du-marmandais area. These lands are an extension of those of the Entre-deux-Mers on the right bank and the Graves on the left bank.
