Médoc, Sauternes, Bergerac...there is almost too much to try

Chateaux and estates to meet the wine-growers

The majority of wine estates - called chateaux even when they are small and simple - which are open to visitors finish with a tasting of the wine produced on their vineyard. Smell an Armagnac next to a pot-still, taste the aromas of a wine in the half-light of a wine cellar, and enjoy the chance to chat with a passionate wine producer… it’s fascinating!

Bordeaux

Château Luchey-Halde

It was during the Roman era that the first vines of Luchey-Halde were planted. Over the centuries, the quality of the terroir as well as the reputation of the excellence of the wines of Graves have enabled the land at Luchey to be strongly protected from the growth of private housing estates.
In 1999, the current owner, the École Nationale d’Ingénieurs des Travaux Agricoles de Bordeaux repurchased the land and replanted the vines which had been uprooted by the army in 1919.
