You are here: Buzet en Albret

Set in the south of the Lot-et-Garonne area, the 2,000 hectares in Buzet produce well-structured reds, full-bodied rosés and smooth whites. In the heart of sun-soaked Gascony, you will like the Buzet accent, in particular as you enjoy the local gastronomy in a meal with friends...

Vines by the waterside

Lot-et-Garonne is the freshwater side of Aquitaine, the area best suited to river tourism. With the canal running alongside the Garonne, the Lot and the secretive Baïse which flows through the village of Buzet and offers a nice stop-off there, Lot-et-Garonne contains a network of 197 km of navigable waterways ideal for a short break or a longer stay.

Buzet en Albret: true stories!

From the south of the Marmande area to the gateway of Agen, the 27 communes in the Buzet appellation are alive with the voices of the famous Liars of Moncrabeau, but also the echoes of the history of France. For example, it was in Nérac that Jeanne d’Albret, the mother of the future King Henri IV, established the capital of Protestantism in France. The castle received many prestigious guests and the entire region experienced the 16th-century Wars of Religion at first hand.

Fortified towns and night-time markets

Gascony is a land rich in gourmet delights, which you can discover at the markets - night-time, crafts, or producers’. The "bastides" – fortified towns built in the Middle Ages in their charactersitic right-angled style with a central square - and the villages all spring to life at weekends and during the summer, and visits are sometimes conducted by troubadours... Atmosphere guaranteed.

The Vignerons de Buzet await you...

This dynamic cooperative winery produces a large proportion of the 13 million bottles of the AOC. It offers a full guided tour of its facilities, showing you each stage in the life of wine: vinification, maturing, barrel cellar, bottling and, lastly, the flavours room where you taste the wine. They like to combine business with pleasure!
